OUR STORY

Welcome to Vineyard City of Light
We are a vibrant, growing church in Durban, South Africa, and part of the global family of Vineyard churches. Founded in 1985, our church has a rich legacy of faith, leadership, and community impact. Today, Pastors Jerome and Charlene Govender lead a church family of around 400 people with a passion to see lives transformed by the love and power of Jesus.

At Vineyard City of Light, we are committed to worship, discipleship, outreach, and building authentic community. We exist to help people encounter God, find family, grow in purpose, and shine His light in the world.

Looking Ahead to 2026 with Faith and Expectation

As we move into 2026, we do so with faith, gratitude, and a deep sense of expectation for all that God wants to do in and through Vineyard City of Light.

We believe this is a year of renewal, growth, and courageous forward movement. God is calling us higher — not to remain comfortable, but to step boldly into His purpose for our lives, our church, and our city. We believe He is raising up a people who will carry His light with confidence, compassion, and conviction.

This year is about more than plans and programs. It is about deeper faith, stronger relationships, and a greater hunger to see lives transformed by Jesus. We are believing for salvations, healing, restored families, powerful testimonies, and people stepping fully into their calling.

We remain committed to being a church where people find hope, connection, purpose, and spiritual family. As we move forward together, we do so with joy and expectation.

We are excited for what’s ahead and we can’t wait to walk this journey together.
